I was really excited when someone told me ebrary had an app. Now I could get around the awkwardness of loading the site in safari on my ipad! Well, no, that didnt happen at all. There is no functionality for annotating or highlighting whatsoever. This is a must. Im not reading fiction here, Im reading for class or my own research, and marking it up is necessary. Secondly, there is no way to access what is on my bookshelf. I have to load the website in safari, find what book I want, THEN open it in the app. And I cant even annotate or bookmark or anything useful. Id rather deal with the awkwardness in safari and still have those features than use the app. As it stands, this is a useless app.

How great this app would be if it actually worked!

Went through all the registration steps, including verifying both primary and backup email addresses. Get a message that there is no record of my login ID. Impossible. Is it possible to give zero stars!?

The interface is decent. Unfortunately for me it disconnects at each phone restart (instead of resuming with the last doc on the page you last read) requiring logging in to the ebrary account again. It doesnt remember your user info either, so you have to type user name and password each time. Its easy enough to change password on the ebrary site, but not user name as far as I can tell. Plus it outright crashes when I switch to another app and then back. Not to mention spinning endlessly at certain points such as during online searching or moving to a new, ill-fated page of a document. Really poor programming. If they would just use it for a week Im sure theyd notice all these issues.

Worked for a week. Now every search I do returns no results. Wish the app was better.

So you have to make an account for this and another for that. Also link this one to there. Why cant a person just use their school account that you sign in with on the main website?

Really terrible interface -- becomes impossible to get back to the table of contents or to get back to ebrary choice. Just then you think you have found the magic spot to tap to bring the options back up, you turn the page. Tap somewhere else; turn the page. TAP, TAP, TAP -- turn the page. BAH!

By crash, I mean it made my iPad non-functional. No error. Just black screen, off. Even the power button wont work. You have to do a soft reset to make iPad turn on.

This is the ONLY way to access ebooks from my university library otherwise Id dump it in a heartbeat. You have to sign in every.single.time. Its very hard to enter search criteria - takes forever. Most times the TOC links dont work well either. Sure wish I knew who was responsible for giving this app a monopoly over e-access to online library content. Disgustingly bad app.

This app has repeatedly (3 times) crashed my whole Ipad, not just the app, and then it takes 10-20 min for the iPad to restart. Last time i almost had to reset the iPad. Unfortunately this is the only way to access some ebooks from my school library in the ipad.

Title line says it all, just about! Makes the iPad (running iOS 7.0.4) shut down completely and it wont come back on unless I plug it in. Really a shame because it would be nice to be able to use ebooks from my schools library.

My iPad crashes completely when I download new books then try to use safari. Every time.

This app is a disgrace. Monkeys could design a better app.

Installed app, downloaded ebook. After a few pages, my iPad Air shut down. The iPad has never crashed before. It has been one hour and my iPad still will not start.

I have to reboot my ipad when the app when screen for locked

I have been trying to get this app to work for at least 6 months. It works fine on my iPhone, but epic fail on my iPad 2. Sometimes I can’t even get into my account, then when I do I can’t access books. I email support, get a few emails back and forth and then they drop me— I guess they figure I’ll just go away. Well… now I will. Total. Waste. Of. Time.

Clunky. Slow. Cannot annotate. Crashes. I am only complaining now for the sake of catharsis while my iPad reboots. I am not their customer. This organization does not give a crap.

Very bad iPad crash: I downloaded the ebrary app onto my iPad Mini, downloaded a book, looked at a few pages, went back to the ebrary app home screen, and walked away for a few minutes. When I came back, the iPad screen was black, and the iPad wouldnt turn on. I finally connected the iPad to my computer, which brought the iPad back to life. First thing I did was remove the ebrary app. I would not trust this app!

(No (parenthesis) ) programed into keyboard. Cannot change password and am now locked out. Thanks folks for making this marginal program

Running iOS 7.1.1 on my iPad mini 2 and works fine. Please update resolution and for iOS 7 design. No problems logging in when linked to FB. A potential app , but needs a dedicated programmer.
